Road Trip: Savannah
I'm so excited to finally share the pictures we took in Savannah. It was hands down our favorite stop of the entire trip. We fell in love with this city and fell for it hard, so much so that for a while we were even looking at homes for sale (just out of curiosity). It is the most beautiful, charming place I've ever visited in the U.S. It has everything I look for in a small city - old architecture, cozy boutique-lined streets, plenty of green space and an overall relaxed vibe.
{Everything is charming in Savannah, even the downspouts.}
{How's it that even their street signs are picture perfect?}
{Someone did a little bit of damage in the local shops.}
{Love this old river boat at the Savannah port.}
It was on this street by the waterfront, watching a ship pulling in, listening to a street musician play some patriotic tune, feeling a breeze in my hair, that I had an embarrassing moment. Overwhelmed by emotions I burst into tears right in the middle of the street. My husband was completely confused by my unexpected reaction and immediately tried to clarify my state of being with, "Why are you crying?" "It's just so beauuutiful," I replied with a quivering lip. "It's more beautiful than I can take." I guess there's only so many senses I can handle at once before I fall apart.
Remember the squirrel from Ice Age movie and his acorn-filled heaven? Well, this place was mine. Unable to make a choice from the hundreds of treats, I just went with the nearest desert, which happened to be peanut butter fudge. Needless to say it was delicious.

This place was pure magic. Mr. C had to drag me out of there. If you ever find yourself in Savannah you must visit this shop. They carry goods from different corners of the world - from home decor items, to toys for the little ones, to the most luxurious teas and coffee table books. Whether you're looking for a gift or a little something for yourself you'll definitely find it at the Paris Market. And if you get tired while browsing though their extensive inventory you can always sit down and enjoy their decadent deserts at the cafe area. A shop with a french coffee bar - best idea ever!
{The basement at the Paris Market - a true wonderland.}
While looking around at these amazing displays I was approached by two lovely ladies, one of whom recognized me from my blog. Seriously?! I mean I suppose it wouldn't be a surprise if you're the one running let's say Cupcakes and Cashmere, but I'm just some virtually unknown Daydream Delightful. The chance of me running into someone who has ever seen my blog is pretty much nonexistent. I'm still in disbelief about this encounter. Anyway, both ladies were incredibly friendly and recommended a few more places for us to visit.
{Molly MacPherson's - a Scottish restaurant that had the most delicious, hearty beef barley soup and a sensational shepherd's pie}
{Just a little peek}
This was one of the shops recommended to us by the two women we met at the Paris Market. Before even setting foot in this place I knew it was right up my alley. Just mention chocolate and I'm in. This however, wasn't your ordinary candy shop. This is a place to indulge in something exquisite. All of their chocolate is made by hand with love and the highest level of artistry. It's almost too pretty to eat. My mouth is watering just looking at these pictures.
A trip to Savannah wouldn't be complete without stopping by Wormsloe Historic Site. The driveway lined with beautiful, Spanish Moss covered live oaks makes it feel like you're going back in time.
Stay tuned for our next stop... Charleston!
